Exercise and kidney stones

I have been told that if I exercise a lot, I may develop kidney stones. Is this true?
In general, if you exercise a lot and do not replace the lost water, you are more prone to kidney stones. People, who live in warm climates and sweat a lot, generally are at a higher risk of developing kidney stones. The reason is dehydration and increased chance of stone formation.
