Urinary tract infection-pyridium

I keep on developing urinary tract infections and would like something for the burning and pain. Is there anything besides Motrin?

Sure, ask your doctor to give you pyridium. It is sold in most pharmacies but you do need a script. Pyridium comes as a tablet and is even found in some drug kits for a urinary tract infection. Take one pill with a meal, as it does tend to cause stomach upset. To relieve the burning and pain, you need to take the pill (200 mg) three times a day. Within a few hours, it will relieve the pain and discomfort. Most people only need to take it for 1-2 days. Remember this drug is not an antibiotic and does not cure the UTI. It is believed that this drug relieves the ureter spasms and symptoms of urgency. Pyridium will make your urine go red or orange and this is normal. Rare side effects include headache and stomach upset. Drink lots of water and only use it if you have symptoms from a urinary tract infection.
