Acupuncture for insomnia

I have been thinking about undergoing acupuncture because of my inability to sleep. Any thoughts?

Many people have difficulty sleeping and for the majority there is no good solution, except for medications. However, prescription sleeping pills are expensive and can cause physical dependence. Now some alternative health care practitioners are recommending acupuncture for sleep problems.

Unfortunately there are no good studies to determine if acupuncture really works as a sleeping aid. The few reports indicate that acupuncture is a waste of money. One session of acupuncture never works and one needs to undergo many sessions. Acupuncture sessions can cost anywhere from $50-$100- and that can easily amount to several hundred dollars every couple of weeks for a treatment that may not work.

Be realistic, if you can't sleep at midnight, how the f..k are you going to get acupuncture treatment? Surely you are not going to get a therapist to come to your home and you sure are not going to find any clinic open at that time of the night.

Best advice, save your hard earned money from this B.S. treatment.
