Toviaz and urinary incontinence

Is Toviaz an effective drug for urinary incontinence?

Toviaz is a medication used to treat an overactive bladder. When the bladder is overactive, urine incontinence occurs and can make life miserable. Toviaz relaxes muscles of the bladder and helps prevent overflow incontinence.  When taken regularly, Toviaz helps decrease leakage of urine. The need to urinate frequently decreases and improves quality of life. Toviaz is classified as an anti spasmodic. Unfortunately, Toviaz only works in less than 30 percent of individuals with overflow incontinence. The drug also has unpleasant side effects like dry mouth, blurred vision and constipation. My advice is try it for a few weeks. If it does not work in 5-10 days, it is unlikely to work. If you increase the dose, you are more likely to suffer from adverse effects.
