Bipolar versus manic depression

Can you please tell me what is the difference between bipolar and manic depression illness? I am confused

Basically bipolar and manic depressive disorder are the same thing. Bipolar is a disorder characterized by mood swings varying from intense lows of depression to extreme highs of mania. The depression can be severe and you may feel sad and hopeless. When you feel manic, you will fell euphoric, energetic and invincible. These mood swings tend to occur a few times a year in some people; and in others, may occurs several times a day. In some cases, bipolar disorder may presents with alternating depression and mania at the same time.

Bipolar disorder is one of the most disruptive mental health disorders. It is a very difficult disorder to treat. While drugs do work initially, most lose their effectiveness with time. Moreover, people with bipolar are non compliant with their medications. People who have bipolar usually create havoc in their lives and in everyone that is associated with them.
