I have been told I have a varicocele and should undergo surgery. Is this a real emergency?

Of course not. The doctor only wants to make money of you by making you scared shit. Varicoceles are harmless and the majority cause no symptoms. There is even a big question if getting rid of them get reverses infertility. Only men who have pain, testicular atrophy or infertility may want to undergo the surgery. The timing of repair is also controversial, but this is only because of the surgeons want to rush individuals to surgery. Varicoceles are of no danger to health and all surgery is strictly elective –never be rushed into any type of surgery. If a surgeon insists on immediate surgery seek a second opinion.
