Discoid lupus

I have been diagnosed with skin (discoid) lupus. Does this mean I will also develop the full-blown lupus later?

 

Discoid lupus only affects the skin . This disorder starts with a characteristic rash on the face and neck area . The rash is not itchy but is obvious and can darken with sun. Other may develop a variety of changes in the nails. Some people who develop discoid lupus never develop the systemic lupus. As to who will develop the systemic lupus cannot be predicted. Based on some studies, at least 20-30% of people with discoid lupus will develop full-blown lupus with time.
